I have been fascinated by computers and computer applications for 45 years. I have been using hands-on, small scale computers since the mid 1970's. I am not a guru. Therefore, reader beware!

• Guts of a New Machine
  - I presently have plans to upgrade (again) my existing system one step at a time until I can add a new hot shot motherboard and a comparable cpu to make a great machine for what I'm interested in.
• AOL Positions on e-mail Access
  - America On Line has attempted to shield its members from unsolicited e-mail (spam). They have a pretty good discussion of this issue and a current list of excluded URLs. I've appropriated both without permission.
• Auction Web
  - I'm not sure quite how to characterize this site. It's not quite a garage sale, nor is it a commercial mall, nor is it a flea market. I like to think of it as a fun bazaar. It is as people-to-people as you can get.
• OnSale Auction
  - I see this get mixed reviews but I've never had any problem with it. It sells manufacturers' surplus and overage. Competition is stiff but there are often bargains better than anywhere else..
