Grenada to United States
October 27, 1922
This registered letter was mailed from Grenville.
Grenville is the
second largest city in Grenada on the
east coast
about 15 km northeast of St. George's on the west coast.
There are three strikes of a Grenville CDS on the
front and four strikes on the rear.
A boxed Grenville, B.W.I. registration handstamp
with a script serial number was added.
The cover entered the United States mails on
November 8.
The United States registry number was stamped on the front (65651)
and an oval New York City Registry Division handstamp was added on the
reverse.
I believe that the large R in the oval on the front was also added
there.
Can anyone confirm this?
The cover proceeded to its destination of Portland, Maine,
about
150 km northeast of Boston.
Its arrival on November 9 was confirmed by a round Registry cancel.
The cover was franked with stamps from the King
George V definitives issued in 1921 and 1922.
There are two ½d. green, a 1d. carmine-red, and a 3d. bright
blue (SG 112, 113, and 121).
The addressee was the Severn-Wylie-Jewett Co.

I guess that makes this cover philatelic!
