This uprated postal card was sent from the port city of Alexandria
on the Mediterranean coast about 180 km northwest of Cairo.
It has three Alexandria DEPART CDS.

The next stop was Port Said at the Mediterranean entrance to the Suez Canal.
A transit CDS was applied there on September 12.
The card joined mail bound for the far east aboard a steamship.

The card's arrival at its destination in Macau
was marked by a Portuguese hexagonal CDS dated October 4.
At the time Macau was a tiny (6 square miles) Portuguese
overseas territory opposite Hong Kong at the mouth of the Canton River.
Pursuant to an agreement signed by China and Portugal on 13 April 1987,
Macau became the Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China on 20 December 1999.

The 2m postal card was uprated to 10m by adding King Fuad stamps from the 1927-37 issue.
There are three 1m orange and one 4m brown (Scott 128 and 133).

The sender was Madam Victoria Balesh who was interested in a sample copy of a publication.
She liked to "circulate my address for stampa [sic] collection."
Boy, would she love internet spam!
