Lebanon to Curaçao
April 26, 1905
This picture postcard was sent through the Austrian Post
Office in Beirut.
It is franked with a 10 para overprint of the 5c blue green (probably
with varnish bars)
issued for Austrian Offices in the Turkish Empire in 1901 (Scott 32a).
The card is marked 'imprimé' to take advantage of the lower
rates for printed matter.
The addressee was with the Belgian consulate in
Curaçao
on the island of Willemstad off the coast of Venezuela.
En route it passed through New York City where it received
a machine cancel transit mark faintly seen on the picture side.
On the face there is a Curaçao receiving mark for May
21.
