Today in Postal History

Sweden to Hungary
February 20, 1921

This 10 öre postal card was uprated to its destination in Budapest.
The 15 öre red brown Gustaf V was issued in 1911.
The international rate went from 10 öre to 25 öre on February 1, 1921.
It is probable that this card was among those issued already uprated by the Post Office
as they exhausted obsolete stocks and awaited new stocks issued on May 9 as a result of the rate change.*
In any event, the stamp was probably chosen to match the imprinted stamp on the card.

The stamps were cancelled with a Stockholm double circle
date stamp with wavy wings on both sides for killers.
There's little else to add about this cover.
I do not believe the pencilled marks are related to the item's postal history.

*Thanks to Bjorn Munch for the information about the rate change and the
suggestion concerning the likelihood that this was issued with the stamp already affixed.
He also points out that the message is not in Swedish and is most likely Hungarian.
